APPLICATION FORM

I took a lot of time into this application form, going into every question in detail. I picked out what the company was looking for and then thought of examples of how I have done that before. In response to this, I was told that my work experience is good and laid out well, this made me extremely happy as I feel like my experience is quite strong and for someone to agree gave me extra confidence. I also; structured my answers well, highlighted relevant skills for the role and show great enthusiasm for the role and the company. In response to this, I’m glad that this is what they got out of my application as I tried to show my enthusiasm throughout. However, before I applied I knew I went over the word count but I didn't want to shorten it as I wanted all the information included and thought that was more important. I was also told to create a cover note, I didn't know this was an option for this application but I realise I have to do it for other applications.

Overall, I was rather disappointed with the feedback I got as I would of appreciated more points on what to improve on other than create a cover note and improve word count. As I looked at other feedbacks and they were exactly the same. For the time I put into this, I would of appreciated more but I do respect in most situations like this, you don't get any feedback so some is better than none. A week after the assessment centre, I spoke to my tutor Helen. She mentioned to me and my friend Sinead, if you struggle with your word count you should read over it and highlight the key points. Everything left over delete and reword. This sounds like a really good technique and I will look into doing this next time.
